Amira Can Catch, New Kid in School by Kevin Christofora

Amira is the new kid in school after moving from her home in Syria over a year ago. She is shy, but is welcomed by her new classmate Nick and the All Star baseball team at school. They quickly learn that Amira has had a lot of practice throwing and catching a ball back home, so she is a great addition to the team. The book is a mix of current events as well as a fun baseball story that all kids will enjoy.
